How and why "Mortgaged" Bullion is a better alternative
The purchase of "mortgaged" or "leveraged" bullion uses the same logic found in real estate investment opportunities—where you buy a house you believe will increase in value over the next several years. Most investors would make a small down payment on the house, and take a mortgage for the balance of the purchase. Cash purchase of 100 ounces of gold at $700/ounce would cost $70,000. If gold rises by $70 per ounce, the investor would earn $7000 or a 10.0% return.*
Leveraged Purchase: The same $70,000 investment would permit the purchase and control of 434 ounces of gold. If gold were to rise by the same $70 per ounce as in the cash example, the investor using leverage would earn $30,380 or a $43% return on investment!*
